By clicking the Parameters button on the page showing the list of contacts, you access QContacts global configuration settings. Any contact parameter set to Use Global when the contact is created/edited takes its value from the corresponding global configuration setting.
For example, let's say you don't want that address information is displayed on the frontend for any contact. You can set to Hide all these fields in Global configuration: Street Address, Town/Suburb, State/County, Postal/Zip Code, Country. As contact parameters are set to Use Global by default, you don't need to configure anything at the contact level. If you change your mind and decide to show address information for one or more of your contacts, you can simply edit those contacts and under Contact Parameters change the setting of the fields listed above from Use Global to Show.
Some parameters are available only in Global Configuration and cannot be changed for single contacts:- Contact Images Folder. Path of the folder containing contacts images.
- Send Results From. It allows to choose which e-mail will be used as FROM address to send form results: e-mail submitted with the form or e-mail set in Site >> Global configuration >> Server - Mail settings.
- Required fields marker. It allows to choose if an asterisk or another symbol will be displayed near required fields.
- Include sender IP. It allows to choose whether an additional field showing sender IP address will be included in e-mail containing form results.
- Session Check. Check for existance of session cookie, this means that users without cookies enabled will not be able to send e-mails.
